S&B Fabrication Services said it plans to lay off 83 employees at the site on Oscar Nelson Jr. Drive by Sept. 8. The company offers modular assembly, pipe fabrication, plates and other steel products.

In a statement, the company blamed "changing market conditions" for the closure.

"We remain committed to supporting our impacted colleagues and minimizing any disruption for our customers," said S&B's spokesperson Lindsay Burke.
